In this vital role, you’ll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide direct instruction and accessibility support to students with visual impairments, as well as additional disabilities. With a manageable caseload of 25-30 students, you’ll make a lasting impact in a supportive educational environment across 2-3 educational centers.
Qualifications:
- Valid and current licensure as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Experience working with students with visual impairments, including those with secondary or tertiary disabilities
- Familiarity and comfort supporting students with severe behavior and physical challenges
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Flexibility and adaptability to work between multiple educational sites
Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction to students with visual impairments, tailored to individual needs and IEP goals
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, therapists, and staff to ensure accessibility and inclusion
- Adapt classroom materials and resources into accessible formats
- Travel across 2-3 educational centers to deliver consistent, high-quality support
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of student progress
- Communicate regularly with families and team members regarding student needs and achievements
Assignment Details:
- Contract position beginning September 8, 2026, through June 10, 2027
- 37.5 hours per week
- Caseload of 25-30 students across North, South, and West Education Centers
- Serving students in a setting 4 district known for supporting individuals with significant behavioral and physical challenges
