This full-time contract opportunity runs from August 11, 2026, to May 20, 2027, with hours from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM. The role offers flexibility for either onsite or virtual instruction and provides the chance to work with a manageable caseload district-wide.
Key Qualifications:
- Certified Teacher for the Visually Impaired or comparable credential
- Experience supporting students with visual impairments in school environments
- Ability to collaborate with general education and special education teachers
- Proficient in creating, implementing, and monitoring accommodations and modifications
- Strong communication and advocacy skills
Main Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative educational instruction to students with visual impairments across the district
- Work collaboratively with general education and special education staff to foster accessible classroom environments
- Assess students’ needs and develop individualized instructional and support plans
- Guide teachers in implementing effective strategies, accommodations, and modifications for visually impaired students
- Maintain clear, timely documentation and communication with educational teams and families
