If you are experienced in providing essential instruction and collaborating with educational teams to help visually impaired students succeed, this position is tailored for you.
You’ll work in a highly supportive environment, either onsite or remotely, developing and delivering individualized educational programs. Your expertise will empower both students and fellow educators to create accessible and inclusive classrooms.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Certification in Visual Impairment Education
- Teaching background with visually impaired students (schools setting preferred)
- Familiarity with current instructional strategies, Braille, and adaptive technologies
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with general and special education teachers
- Ability to adapt materials and modify classroom environments for accessibility
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction to visually impaired students based on individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Coordinate with general education and special education teachers to implement accommodations and modifications
- Assist in accessibility planning for classroom materials and technology
- Maintain accurate student progress records and participate in IEP meetings
- Serve as a knowledgeable resource for teachers, staff, and families
