Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid state certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• Previous experience teaching students with visual impairments, preferably in a school setting
• Familiarity with adaptive instructional materials, technology, and Braille
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Flexibility and problem-solving abilities in dynamic classroom environments

Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct instruction to students with visual impairments, adapting curriculum as necessary
• Collaborate with school staff, families, and related service providers to support student learning and access
• Assess students’ abilities and needs, maintaining thorough, timely documentation
• Develop and modify lesson plans and educational materials in accessible formats
• Provide guidance on accommodations, assistive technology, and classroom modifications
• Advocate for student needs within the educational setting
• Participate in IEP meetings and professional development activities

This school-based contract position follows the academic calendar for the 2026-2027 school year, with specific details about caseload and daily duties to be provided. You’ll have the chance to positively impact students’ lives while working alongside dedicated professionals.
