Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) | Englewood, Colorado

Make a positive impact as a contract educator supporting students with visual impairments for the 2026–27 academic year in the Denver area. You’ll partner with a school district serving learners from early childhood through high school, offering your specialized expertise and helping shape individualized learning experiences for every student on your caseload.

You’ll actively participate in assessment, instructional planning, and direct support, empowering students to access their curriculum and engage meaningfully with their school community. This is a full-time, onsite opportunity starting July 31, 2026, through May 26, 2027. The assignment is district-based, with the chance to work across a range of school settings.

Key Qualifications:

• Current Colorado DOE certification with endorsement in “Special Education Specialist – Visual Impairment (ages 0–21)”
• Master’s degree or higher in special education visual impairment or equivalent as recognized by Colorado DOE
• Preferably O&M (Orientation & Mobility) certification (not required, but strongly valued)
• Willingness to complete background check and fingerprints prior to start

Core Responsibilities:

• Conduct and interpret functional vision assessments and educational evaluations
• Develop and implement IEPs for students with visual impairments, from ECE through high school
• Deliver direct specialized instruction and adaptive skills training
• Adapt classroom materials and learning environments for accessibility
• Offer O&M support where qualified
• Collaborate with parents, teachers, and school staff, maintaining clear communication on student progress
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with district requirements
• Commit to the full academic year, providing consistency and ongoing support
