Empower students with visual impairments to succeed and access learning with this impactful, full-time opportunity. As an itinerant educator, you’ll collaborate closely with school staff and families, traveling to various educational sites near Ephrata, WA to deliver high-quality instruction tailored to each student’s needs for the entire 2026-2027 school year. This role is in-person, with consideration for hybrid scheduling where possible, allowing the flexibility to make a meaningful difference across multiple settings.

Qualifications and Required Experience:

  • Valid Washington State Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) licensure is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of braille, assistive technology, and adaptive instructional strategies.
  • Experience working with K-12 students who are blind or visually impaired in educational environments.
  • Ability to design and adapt lesson plans, materials, and instructional techniques to meet diverse needs.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to partner with other educators, related service providers, and families.
  • Organizational skills to manage a dynamic, itinerant schedule across multiple school sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction to students with visual impairments, ensuring access to the general curriculum.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, making data-driven recommendations for accommodations and supports.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to adapt instructional materials and classroom environments.
  • Deliver professional development, resources, and support to staff on best practices in visual impairment education.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of individualized learning plans.
  • Serve as an advocate for students and families, ensuring equitable access and support.
