Full-time opportunities are available for dedicated Teachers of the Visually Impaired (TVIs), with the flexibility to work either in-person or virtually. Serve as an itinerant TVI for the 2026/2027 school year, making a direct impact through partnership and collaboration with school teams.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid Washington State Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) licensure required
- Prior experience working as a TVI in school settings is highly valued
- Comfortable providing instruction and support in both in-person and remote/virtual environments
- Strong communication skills, with an ability to collaborate with general education staff, families, and service providers
- Demonstrated ability to adapt instruction and materials to meet the diverse needs of students with visual impairments
- Organizational skills to manage an itinerant caseload and travel between assigned sites (if in-person)
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instructional services to students with visual impairments across various ages and grade levels
- Assess student needs and develop individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Provide consultative support to classroom teachers to ensure access to the curriculum and modify materials as necessary
- Teach students to use assistive technology, Braille, and orientation/mobility strategies based on individual needs
- Maintain clear documentation of student progress and provide regular communication with parents and staff
- Adapt to changing assignments and locations as an itinerant professional
