• Proficient in creating accessible materials, including braille and large print
• Excellent collaboration skills to work effectively with teachers, families, and support staff
• Compassion, adaptability, and dedication to advocacy for students’ needs

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction and consultative services for students with visual impairments
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals and accommodations
• Assess students’ functional vision and learning environments to determine instructional needs
• Collaborate with general education teachers to adapt curriculum materials
• Teach students to utilize adaptive equipment and technology for greater independence
• Offer guidance and support to families and school staff
• Maintain detailed records of student progress and communication
