Key Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education for the Visually Impaired or a related field
• Valid state teaching certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• Previous experience working with school-aged students with visual impairments is highly desirable
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Ability to adapt teaching materials and use assistive technology to accommodate various needs
• Passion for inclusion, advocacy, and student-centered learning

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction and individualized education plans to students with visual impairments across a variety of grade levels
• Adapt general curricula and utilize specialized equipment or techniques to improve students’ educational access and independence
• Conduct assessments and interpret evaluations to determine students’ instructional needs
• Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, families, and related service providers to support student success
• Assist with orientation and mobility training as necessary
• Maintain accurate records and participate in IEP/504 meetings
