This opportunity seeks a skilled educator specializing in visual impairment to support students in a school setting in Evansville, WY. This contract position provides a chance to make a meaningful impact by delivering specialized instruction tailored to students with visual impairments.
Responsibilities include:
- Designing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with visual impairments
- Providing specialized instruction using appropriate tools and techniques to enhance students’ academic and functional skills
- Collaborating with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure comprehensive educational support
- Administering assessments and tracking student progress to adjust teaching strategies as needed
- Training students in the use of assistive technology and orientation and mobility techniques
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation in compliance with educational standards and requirements
Qualifications and experience:
- Valid teaching certification in visual impairment or related licensure
- Experience working with students who are visually impaired or blind in an educational setting
- Strong knowledge of instructional strategies, assistive technology, and accessibility modifications for visually impaired learners
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to adapt instruction to meet diverse student needs and abilities
