Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Valid Teaching Certification with endorsement for Visually Impaired students (TVI)
• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Special Education, Visual Impairment, or a related field
• Experience developing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for visually impaired students
• Strong knowledge of adaptive technologies and Braille instruction
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, staff, and families
• Previous school-based experience is a plus

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide tailored instruction and support to students with visual impairments in various educational settings
• Adapt curriculum, materials, and classroom environments to meet individual needs
• Conduct assessments and document student progress in accordance with IEP goals
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers to enhance inclusion and accessibility
• Offer guidance and resources for integrating assistive technology and Braille
• Consult and communicate regularly with families, ensuring comprehensive progress updates
