Key Qualifications:

• Valid teaching certification for Visually Impaired students
• Experience working with K-12 students in an educational setting
• Knowledge of Braille and assistive technology for visually impaired learners

• Flexibility and passion to tailor instructional strategies to diverse student abilities and IEP goals

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with visual impairments
• Provide direct instruction in Braille, orientation and mobility, and the use of adaptive technology
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education teams, and parents to ensure an inclusive learning environment
• Conduct assessments to track student progress and adapt interventions as needed
• Serve as a resource for staff and families on best practices for supporting visually impaired students
• Maintain detailed documentation and compliance with state and federal regulations
