A part-time position is available for a Teacher specializing in Blind and Visually Impaired education to support students from kindergarten through 12th grade. This contract role offers up to four days per week of onsite engagement, delivering tailored instructional services to visually impaired students. The position begins on January 12, 2026, and concludes on June 26, 2026.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support to students with visual impairments using specialized teaching strategies and resources.
- Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) aligned with student needs and state guidelines.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, therapists, and families to integrate services and promote student success.
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation.
- Utilize assistive technology and adaptive materials to enhance learning accessibility.
Qualifications:
- Valid New York State teaching license in Blind and Visually Impaired education required.
- Experience working with K-12 students who have visual impairments.
- Strong knowledge of instructional strategies, adaptive technology, and compliance with special education regulations.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and engage effectively with families.
- Flexibility to work up to four days per week, Monday through Friday.
