Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) | Fayetteville, North Carolina

Make a meaningful difference supporting students with visual impairments across elementary, middle, and high school settings! This contract position offers full-time hours during the 2026-2027 academic year, from August 10, 2026, through May 27, 2027. You’ll play a key role in ensuring every student receives the specialized instruction and support they need to succeed.

Desired Qualifications & Experience:

• Certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (VI Teacher) required
• Experience working with students in elementary, middle, and high school settings preferred
• Proficiency in both traditional and adaptive instructional methods for visually impaired students
• Ability to interpret and implement district requirements and individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Experience or knowledge of sign language interpretation is a plus
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Flexible and resilient, able to thrive in a dynamic school environment

Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver tailored instruction to visually impaired students across grade levels
• Conduct formal and informal assessments to monitor student achievement
• Prepare instructional materials and accommodations to meet individualized needs
• Attend and participate in ARD meetings, contributing expertise to develop effective plans
• Collaborate with general education staff, families, and support professionals
• Maintain detailed documentation and progress reports
