Embark on a rewarding contract assignment supporting students with visual impairments across elementary, middle, and high school levels. This opportunity runs full-time, Monday through Friday (37.5 hours per week), from August 10, 2026, to May 27, 2027. The position is designed for educators who bring expertise as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) and can accommodate a diverse caseload within a collaborative school setting.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (VI Teacher)
- Background as a Sign Language Interpreter is a valuable asset
- Experience adapting instructional methods to meet district standards and student needs
- Proficiency in conducting both formal and informal student assessments
- Ability to implement individualized instruction and support in a K-12 environment
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction and interventions to students with visual impairments at various grade levels
- Adjust curriculum materials and teaching strategies to foster accessibility and student engagement
- Perform ongoing evaluations through assessments to monitor achievement and inform instruction
- Attend and prepare for ARD (Admission, Review, Dismissal) meetings, sharing data and recommendations
- Work collaboratively with related service providers, general education teachers, and families
