Teacher of Visually Impaired - Fayetteville, NC

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid North Carolina Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) license and certifications required
• Previous experience teaching students with visual impairments strongly preferred
• Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to a wide range of visual needs
• Proficient in accessible instructional strategies, Braille, and adaptive technologies
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Passion for inclusion and equity in education

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction and support to students with visual impairments in individual and group settings
• Assess student abilities and create tailored lesson plans in collaboration with other school staff
• Modify curriculum materials and provide resources that accommodate visual impairments
• Monitor student progress, maintain documentation, and communicate regularly with families and multidisciplinary teams
• Serve as an advocate and educational resource regarding visual impairment within the school community
• Comply with all district and state regulations for special education services
