Teacher of the Visually Impaired in Fayetteville, NC

Key Qualifications:

• Active North Carolina Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) license/certification is required
• Proven experience working with K-12 students who have visual impairments
• Ability to develop and adapt individualized educational plans for a diverse student population
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Capacity to work onsite, providing hands-on support and instructional services
• Experience with assistive technology and braille instruction is highly desirable

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction and support to a caseload of 20-23 students with varying degrees of visual impairment
• Assess student needs, monitor progress, and document achievement according to state and local guidelines
• Develop and implement individualized strategies and accommodations that optimize learning
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, administrators, and families to ensure continuity of services
• Advocate for students and educate school communities about accessibility and inclusion
• Remain current on best practices and developments in the field of visual impairment education
