Qualifications and Experience Sought:

• Active North Carolina TVI License or appropriate certifications required
• Previous experience as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired or in a similar educational setting preferred
• Proficiency in developing and adapting instructional materials for visually impaired learners
• Comfortable working collaboratively with a range of educational professionals and support staff
• Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage individualized instruction for students with varying levels of need

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

• Provide direct instruction tailored to the abilities and goals of each student
• Develop, modify, and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, administrators, and families to promote student growth and inclusion
• Serve as an advocate and resource for students, providing guidance on assistive technology and accessible materials
• Monitor and document student progress, adapting strategies as needed to foster continued development

This contract role offers a competitive hourly rate between $39 and $43, commensurate with experience and credentials, for 37.5 hours each week.
