Qualifications & Preferred Experience:

  • Valid certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
  • Experience working with children or adolescents with visual impairments in educational settings
  • Strong understanding of accessibility tools, Braille, and adaptive technology
  • Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess students’ needs and develop tailored instructional plans
  • Deliver direct and consultative services in alignment with IEP goals
  • Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and families to foster inclusive environments
  • Adapt curriculum materials to be accessible for visually impaired students
  • Train and support staff on using assistive technologies and accessibility strategies
  • Maintain accurate records and progress documentation
  • Participate in meetings and professional learning as required
