Make a meaningful difference supporting students as a specialist in visual impairment education. Multiple school settings seek a dedicated professional to empower learners with visual impairments through the 2026–2027 academic year.

This contract opportunity begins July 27th, 2026, and runs through May 25th, 2027. Enjoy variety in your week, as you’ll work approximately 20 hours, traveling to different school locations. Your expertise will provide essential support and guidance to visually impaired students, helping them access curriculum and achieve their potential.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Valid Special Education – Visual Impairment (P–12) teaching certificate, or
  • Special Education certificate with a Visual Impairment endorsement
  • Previous experience as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired is beneficial
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to adapt instructional materials for accessibility

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with general education teachers to adapt lessons and materials for visually impaired students
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) specific to visual impairment needs
  • Provide direct instruction to students individually or in small groups
  • Consult with families, staff, and related service providers to ensure coordinated and effective educational experiences
  • Monitor and report on student progress, adjusting strategies as necessary
  • Advocate for accessible environments and technologies to enhance learning
