Qualifications:

• Current certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• Demonstrated experience supporting K-12 students with visual impairments
• Strong understanding of Braille, assistive technology, and adaptive teaching methods
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for teamwork and family collaboration
• Flexibility, resourcefulness, and a student-centered approach
• Ability to organize and manage a flexible 4-hour weekly schedule

Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized instruction and support to visually impaired students
• Assess student needs and develop appropriate educational materials or modifications
• Consult with general education teachers to ensure accommodations in the classroom
• Teach skills related to independent living and the use of assistive technology
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the creation of student plans
• Provide ongoing progress monitoring and collaborate with families to support educational goals
