Key Qualifications:
- Active Georgia Educator Certificate for Teachers of the Visually Impaired (TVI) required
- Previous experience working with visually impaired students in a school setting strongly preferred
- Comfort with documentation, including maintaining accurate daily service logs
- Strong communication skills and adaptability; willing to discuss age group preferences
- Flexible approach and ability to work onsite (remote/VOCO candidates not eligible)
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality instruction and support to visually impaired students, adapting lessons and environments to individual needs
- Collaborate with general and special education staff, related service providers, and families
- Assess student abilities and progress, contribute to IEP meetings, and help develop student-specific goals and accommodations
- Maintain thorough and timely service logs and documentation as required by the district
- Engage in pre- and post-planning as needed to ensure smooth transitions throughout the school year
