Empower students to achieve their fullest potential as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) supporting schools virtually. In this full-time, contract opportunity, you will collaborate with educational teams to ensure students with visual impairments receive tailored instruction and access to curriculum resources. Taking place during the 2026-2027 academic year, this position offers the chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of learners, with thoughtful placement determined based on your unique expertise and age group experience.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering direct and consultative services to students with visual impairments in a virtual format
- Collaborating with classroom teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Adapting and creating materials to ensure accessibility for all assigned students
- Completing accurate daily service logs to document student progress and compliance
- Actively participating in IEP meetings and ongoing communication with school staff
- Responding flexibly to serve a diverse, evolving student caseload
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Valid Georgia teaching certification for Teachers of the Visually Impaired is required
- Prior experience providing virtual TVI services within school settings
- Strong digital literacy and comfort navigating video conferencing and assistive technology tools
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Commitment to collaborative problem-solving and professional growth
- Skilled in managing time, documentation, and remote engagement
