Key Qualifications & Skills:
- Current certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Experience or proficiency as a Sign Language Interpreter desirable
- Familiarity with implementing instructional techniques tailored to students with visual impairments
- Ability to meet district standards for teaching methods and compliance
- Confident conducting both formal and informal student assessments
- Competency preparing for and participating in ARD (Admission, Review, and Dismissal) meetings
- Strong collaboration, organization, and communication abilities
- Commitment to supporting inclusive education across multiple grade levels
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide instruction to students with visual impairments in diverse classroom environments
- Develop, modify, and implement individualized instruction strategies based on student needs
- Utilize a range of assessment tools to monitor and document student progress
- Prepare reports and participate actively in ARD meetings to support educational planning
- Collaborate with school staff, families, and specialists to deliver a cohesive learning experience
- Maintain accurate records and comply with all district and state requirements
