Teacher for the Visually Impaired | Fort Bragg, North Carolina

We’re seeking certified Teachers for the Visually Impaired (TVI) to empower learners across elementary, middle, and high school levels for the 2026–2027 academic year. This full-time contract position runs Monday through Friday, from August 10, 2026, to May 27, 2027, with a weekly commitment of 37.5 hours.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Current certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (VI).
• Experience serving diverse caseloads—elementary, middle, and high school students.
• Proficiency in sign language interpretation is highly valued.
• Strong knowledge of best practices and teaching methods tailored to students with visual impairments.
• Skilled in conducting ongoing assessments through both formal and informal testing.
• Ability to prepare for and participate in relevant ARD meetings.
• Collaborative mindset and the flexibility to adapt to varying student needs.
• Understanding of and adherence to district requirements for instruction and documentation.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized instruction to students with visual impairments.
• Implement effective educational strategies and modifications in accordance with district standards.
• Assess and monitor student progress, using results to inform instructional planning.
• Attend and contribute to ARD meetings to ensure comprehensive support for each student.
• Collaborate closely with colleagues, families, and support staff to optimize student success and engagement.
