Key Qualifications:

• Valid teaching certification for Visual Impairment (TVI) or eligible for licensure in Indiana
• Experience teaching students with visual impairments in a K-12 setting preferred
• Strong knowledge of adaptive technologies, Braille, and accessible instructional strategies
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with students, families, and staff
• Skilled in developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Organized, adaptable, and innovative in your educational approach
• Comfortable collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams

Role Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction and support to students with visual impairments
• Assess student needs and adapt curriculum materials accordingly
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, other specialists, and families to maximize student learning
• Assist in the selection, preparation, and use of adaptive technology and materials
• Monitor and document student progress toward IEP goals
• Offer training and resources to staff about best practices for supporting visually impaired learners
• Advocate for full inclusion and independence of each student
