Teacher of Visually Impaired in Fortson, GA

Make a lasting impact in the lives of students by supporting their educational journey as a teacher for the visually impaired. A contract position is available for the 2026-2027 school year. This role is an onsite opportunity near Fortson, GA, working with students in need of specialized instruction.

This full-time position (minimum of 37.5 hours per week) may also accommodate part-time scheduling, depending on district needs. The assignment begins August 3, 2026, and runs through May 21, 2027, with possible pre- and post-planning days. Caseload details will be finalized in collaboration with each candidate during the interview process, to ensure the best fit based on your preferences and experience level.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Georgia Educator Certification for Teachers of the Visually Impaired (TVIs)
• Experience working as a teacher for the visually impaired in school settings
• Ability and willingness to maintain daily service logs as required
• Comfortable collaborating with school teams and adapting to changing caseloads
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Availability for onsite work only (no virtual/VOCO candidates at this time)

Role Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver individualized instructional strategies for students with vision impairments
• Collaborate with IEP teams, educators, and families to support student needs
• Provide direct services, adaptations, and consultation as outlined in student plans
• Document and log services provided on a daily basis in accordance with district requirements
