The assignment is conveniently located near Fountain, CO, and runs from August 11 to May 20, offering a consistent weekly commitment of 15-20 hours.

In this role, you will:

  • Provide specialized instruction to K-12 students with visual impairments, focusing on access to the general curriculum and development of critical life skills.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to develop and implement effective Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Conduct educational assessments, monitor student progress, and adjust instruction based on evolving needs.
  • Facilitate the use of assistive technologies and accessible materials for students.
  • Support both in-classroom learning and one-on-one or small group sessions, ensuring an inclusive environment.
  • Serve as an advocate for students and share expertise with colleagues to foster positive outcomes.

Qualifications and experience sought:

  • Current certification or eligibility as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI).
  • Experience working with K-12 students in a school setting.
  • Deep understanding of braille, low vision devices, and accessible educational tools.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to creatively adapt teaching strategies for diverse learners.
