Qualifications:

• Valid teaching certification with a specialization in Visual Impairment
• Experience working with K-12 students, preferably in a school setting
• Strong understanding of specialized instructional strategies for the visually impaired
• Proficiency in Braille and assistive technology
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Ability to adapt lessons to meet individualized student needs

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs) tailored to students with visual impairments
• Deliver comprehensive, accessible instruction using specialized curriculum and technology
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, families, and support staff to facilitate student integration and success
• Conduct functional vision assessments and recommend appropriate accommodations
• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records
• Provide guidance and resources to staff and families on best practices for supporting visually impaired students
