A visually impaired teacher position is available in Redwood City, California, supporting high school students. This role offers flexibility with part-time or full-time hours (24 to 40 per week) and a contract term from ASAP through the end of the school year.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing specialized instruction and support to visually impaired students in a high school setting.
- Collaborating with staff and families to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Utilizing adaptive technologies and teaching strategies tailored to students’ needs.
- Monitoring student progress and adjusting instruction accordingly.
- Maintaining records and participating in relevant meetings and trainings.
Qualifications:
- Certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI).
- Experience working with high school-aged students who have visual impairments.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a school team.
- Flexibility to work onsite, with limited remote work options available upon request.
This position is contract-based, with the possibility to work one day a week from home if necessary, although onsite presence is preferred.
