Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Valid teaching certification for Visually Impaired students
• Experience working in school settings or with children with visual impairments
• Knowledge of braille instruction and adaptive technology tools
• Ability to develop Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students, addressing unique learning needs
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with staff, families, and support professionals
• Flexibility and problem-solving abilities to adapt to evolving classroom needs

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct and consultative instruction to students with visual impairments
• Assess student progress, update goals, and maintain documentation as required
• Partner with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to promote inclusive learning experiences
• Support the integration of assistive technology and accessible materials into daily lessons
• Facilitate IEP meetings and participate in school-based teams as a subject matter expert
• Provide training and resources for staff members to enhance understanding and accommodation of visual impairment needs
