The assignment begins July 27, 2026, and concludes May 25, 2027, providing part-time flexibility (approximately 20 hours per week).

Desired Qualifications:

  • Valid Georgia Special Education – Visual Impairment (P–12) teaching certificate, or a Special Education certificate with a Visual Impairment endorsement
  • Proven experience or demonstrable knowledge in teaching students with visual impairments
  • Strong communication skills for partnering effectively with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Adaptability to work across various school environments
  • Dedication to fostering an inclusive and accessible educational experience

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction and support to students with visual impairments, tailoring strategies to individual student needs
  • Assess and address functional vision, adapting curriculum materials as necessary
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to facilitate accommodations and accessible learning opportunities
  • Consult with families, providing guidance on strategies and adaptive resources
  • Document student progress and actively participate in IEP meetings
  • Advocate for student independence and academic growth across all settings
