An exciting opportunity awaits a dedicated Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) in a contract role serving multiple campuses. This position offers the chance to make a significant impact throughout the 2026-2027 school year, supporting students across a diverse district. With a minimum 37.5-hour work week, you’ll travel between 10 campuses on an alternating basis, ensuring each of the 25 students on your caseload receives individualized vision support. You’ll also benefit from having a designated office space at the administrative annex, providing a centralized location for planning and collaboration.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Certified Teacher for the Visually Impaired, or eligibility for certification in Texas
  • Proven experience working with students who have visual impairments, preferably in a school setting
  • Strong knowledge of tools, adaptive technology, and best practices for visually impaired learners
  • Excellent communication and consultative skills for collaboration with school staff, families, and other service providers
  • Effective time management skills and ability to travel between campuses as needed

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction and services to visually impaired students in a variety of educational settings
  • Assess student needs and develop/implement Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals
  • Consult with general education staff and administrators to support classroom modifications and accessibility
  • Provide training and advocacy for students to promote independence and access to curriculum
  • Maintain documentation and progress reports in compliance with district and state requirements
