In this fulfilling contract position, you’ll work a minimum of 37.5 hours per week throughout the 2026-2027 school year, ensuring students with visual impairments receive vital educational opportunities and tailored support. Your expertise will be essential to fostering accessible, engaging learning environments and empowering students to achieve their fullest potential.

Desired Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
  • Previous experience supporting students with visual impairments at the K-12 level
  • Strong understanding of accessible instructional strategies, including the use of assistive technology and Braille
  • Effective time management skills, especially with itinerant schedules and multi-campus caseloads
  • Excellent communication and collaboration with general and special education teams, families, and support staff

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve students with visual impairments across 10 campuses, alternating your presence according to their needs
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored for each student on your caseload (approximately 25 students)
  • Collaborate with general educators and related service providers to ensure curriculum adaptation and classroom accessibility
  • Provide direct instruction in compensatory skills, assistive technology, orientation and mobility, and self-advocacy
  • Maintain thorough documentation and progress notes in line with district and state guidelines
  • Utilize an assigned office space at the administration annex for planning, meetings, and consultations
