Bring your expertise as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired to a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students across several campuses in the Garland area. This full-time, on-site role offers the chance to work with a dynamic group of learners ranging from elementary to high school, including homebound students, across approximately six schools. With a flexible, fluid caseload of 12-15 students, you’ll have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in diverse educational environments during the 2026-2027 academic year.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Current, active TSVI (Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments) licensure required
  • Previous experience teaching or providing direct services to visually impaired students preferred
  • Strong understanding of adaptive techniques, assistive technology, and Braille
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, caregivers, and administration
  • Skilled in managing changing caseloads and adapting to fluid student assignments

Core Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized instruction and support to students who are visually impaired, following individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Travel between designated campuses to deliver direct and consultative services
  • Assess student needs and develop customized learning strategies and materials
  • Serve homebound students as needed
  • Work closely with teachers and family members to promote accessibility and inclusion
  • Maintain accurate progress documentation and participate in IEP meetings

This contract offers a steady, 37.5-hour work week, allowing you to build strong relationships with students and staff while gaining experience across multiple school settings.
