Qualifications:
- Certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired or equivalent state credential
- Previous experience supporting visually impaired students, preferably in a home or school setting
- Familiarity with Braille, adaptive technology, and individualized instructional strategies
- Ability to develop and adapt lessons tailored to the student’s unique learning needs
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with families and educational teams
- Willingness and ability to travel for in-home services
Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, individualized instruction to a visually impaired student twice per month, with each session lasting one hour
- Assess student progress and adjust instructional approaches as needed
- Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and other service providers to ensure continuity of learning
- Keep accurate documentation of sessions and student progress
- Adapt to increasing hours as caseload expands in the coming weeks
