Qualifications:

• Certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired or equivalent state credential
• Previous experience supporting visually impaired students, preferably in a home or school setting
• Familiarity with Braille, adaptive technology, and individualized instructional strategies
• Ability to develop and adapt lessons tailored to the student’s unique learning needs
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with families and educational teams
• Willingness and ability to travel for in-home services

Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging, individualized instruction to a visually impaired student twice per month, with each session lasting one hour
• Assess student progress and adjust instructional approaches as needed
• Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and other service providers to ensure continuity of learning
• Keep accurate documentation of sessions and student progress
• Adapt to increasing hours as caseload expands in the coming weeks
