This contract role offers the opportunity to work onsite within several school districts, collaborating closely with local educators to help students reach their fullest potential. Start in August and continue through the end of the school year, providing specialized instruction and consultation to school teams.

What you’ll need to thrive in this role:

  • Active, valid Pennsylvania teaching certification for Teachers of the Visually Impaired
  • Experience working with K-12 students with visual impairments
  • Strong communication and consultation skills
  • Ability to travel within York County to various school buildings
  • Collaborative spirit to work with general education and special education staff
  • Familiarity with braille, assistive technology, and individualized education programs (IEPs) preferred

Responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering direct and consultative vision services to students
  • Adapting instructional materials and supporting appropriate learning environments
  • Collaborating with general and special education teachers across multiple districts
  • Traveling as needed to provide itinerant services throughout York County
  • Participating in IEP meetings, assessments, and progress monitoring
  • Supporting the implementation of assistive technology
  • Advocating for student access, independence, and success in the classroom
