Make a meaningful impact supporting students as an Itinerant Teacher for the Visually Impaired on a contract assignment. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to work across multiple school locations, providing specialized services to students with visual impairments and collaborating closely with educational teams. The contract is set to begin as soon as possible and will continue through June 4th, 2027, with a weekly schedule of 35 hours.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid South Carolina teaching certificate with a Visual Impairment (VI) Endorsement
• Experience or coursework in instructional methods for students with visual impairments
• Strong communication skills for collaborating with families, staff, and allied professionals
• Adaptability and willingness to travel between assigned school sites
• Commitment to advocating for student access and inclusion in educational settings

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction and accommodations for K-12 students with visual impairments
• Conduct functional vision assessments and interpret results for educational teams
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals for visual learners
• Provide orientation and mobility support in collaboration with related services
• Offer resources and training to teachers and staff to facilitate effective inclusion
• Maintain accurate service documentation and contribute to ongoing program evaluation
