Desired qualifications and experience:
- Valid certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired.
- Previous experience in educational settings, preferably working with visually impaired students.
- Solid understanding of Braille and assistive technologies.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, families, and support staff.
- Strong organizational, communication, and assessment skills.
- Dedication to individualized education plans (IEPs) and student advocacy.
Primary responsibilities and duties:
- Provide direct instruction and support adapted to meet each student’s unique needs.
- Develop and implement effective individualized education plans.
- Assess student progress and adjust strategies to achieve learning goals.
- Consult with classroom teachers to modify curriculum and materials for accessibility.
- Coordinate services and resources to enhance the learning experience.
