Qualifications & Experience Desired:

• Valid teaching certification in Visual Impairment or comparable endorsement
• Experience working with visually impaired students in K-12 settings
• In-depth knowledge of Braille, assistive technology, and accessible materials
• Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Strong collaboration skills for working with multidisciplinary teams and families
• Excellent communication and adaptability

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction tailored to the needs of students with visual impairments
• Develop accessible lessons and modify classroom materials as needed
• Assess student progress, maintain accurate records, and participate in IEP meetings
• Consult with general education teachers to support inclusive practices
• Advocate for students’ needs and facilitate accommodations
• Provide orientation, mobility, and life skills instruction when appropriate
