Collaborate closely with educational teams, families, and administrators to develop and implement individualized instruction and accessible learning materials.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid teaching certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• Proven experience adapting curriculum and materials for students with visual impairments
• Strong understanding of Braille, assistive technology, and orientation/mobility techniques
• Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to work with students across multiple grade levels
• Passion for advocacy and promoting inclusive educational environments

Primary Responsibilities:

• Conduct assessments to determine students’ functional vision and educational needs
• Deliver direct instruction in Braille, assistive technology, and compensatory skills
• Modify general curriculum materials to ensure accessibility for visually impaired students
• Work closely with classroom teachers and support staff to model strategies and provide resources
• Participate in IEP meetings, track student progress, and complete required documentation
• Offer training and consultation to school personnel, students, and families
