Desired Qualifications:

• Valid teaching certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• Experience working with students who are blind or have low vision
• Knowledge of Braille, assistive technology, and adaptive equipment
• Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with families, educators, and related service providers
• Compassion, flexibility, and a commitment to student-centered teaching

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction to students with visual impairments in various educational settings
• Develop, modify, and implement instructional materials customized to students’ needs
• Conduct functional vision assessments and contribute to eligibility evaluations
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and staff to promote accessibility and inclusion
• Offer guidance on the use of assistive devices and specialized resources
• Participate in IEP meetings and maintain detailed documentation regarding student progress
