Qualifications and Experience Desired:

  • Valid teaching certification with an endorsement in Visual Impairment (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Experience providing adapted instruction to students with low vision or blindness
  • Strong understanding of braille, assistive technology, and accommodations for visual impairments
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Dedication to creating accessible, inclusive classroom environments

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver individualized instruction tailored to students' unique visual needs
  • Assess functional vision and recommend appropriate modifications or accommodations
  • Collaborate closely with classroom teachers and staff to adapt curriculum materials
