Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree and certification in visual impairment (Louisiana DOE).
• Minimum 3 years of experience in elementary, secondary, or special education.
• Strong analytical, communication, and leadership abilities.
• Expertise in assistive technology and Braille instruction.
• Familiarity with orientation and mobility training (preferred).
• Ability to travel daily between sites and provide your own transportation.
• Successful completion of drug screening and fingerprinting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct services to visually impaired students across multiple sites.
• Communicate regularly with classroom teachers and the Department of Education.
• Facilitate in-service training for school staff.
• Procure appropriate textbooks and materials.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure each student receives quality support.
• Adapt reading materials and offer Braille instruction as needed.
