Teacher of Visually Impaired in Haverhill, MA

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Massachusetts Department of Education (MA DOE) licensure as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired
• Successful completion of MTELs (Massachusetts Tests for Educator Licensure)
• Experience working with K-12 students who are blind or have low vision is highly valued
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organization skills
• Flexible, compassionate, and dedicated approach to individualized student needs

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and adapt instructional materials and strategies for students with visual impairments
• Assess student abilities and design personalized educational plans to maximize independence and academic participation
• Collaborate with general education teachers, families, and related service providers
• Provide direct and consultative services in accordance with IEPs and educational best practices
• Contribute to the creation of accessible classroom environments and advocate for necessary accommodations and assistive technology
