An opportunity is available for a Visually Impaired Teacher to serve K-12 students on an itinerant basis throughout the district in Hickory, NC, approximately 45 minutes from Charlotte. This contract position is ideal for a new Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) looking to begin the 2026-2027 school year with hands-on experience across multiple school locations.

Key Qualifications:

  • Certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI), new graduates encouraged to apply
  • Ability to provide itinerant services throughout the district, supporting students in various school settings
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, families, and school staff
  • Flexibility to adapt instruction to meet diverse student needs across grades K-12
  • Willingness to travel throughout the district with a valid driver’s license

Location: Hickory, NC – 45 minutes from Charlotte, offering a supportive environment for educational professionals.

Responsibilities include:

  • Delivering specialized instruction and support for visually impaired students throughout the district
  • Developing individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to student needs
  • Collaborating with classroom teachers, parents, and other professionals to enhance student learning and accessibility
  • Managing caseloads in an itinerant role, traveling to multiple school sites daily
  • Utilizing adaptive technology and teaching strategies to improve educational outcomes for students with visual impairments
