A position is available for a skilled Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) to support students with visual impairments within an educational setting in High Springs, FL. This contract role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by providing specialized instruction to enhance students' learning experiences.

Key Details:

  • Schedule: 3 to 5 days per week
  • Hours: 7.5 hours per day, totaling 22.5 to 37.5 hours weekly
  • Contract Duration: August 6th through May 28th (2026-2027 School Year)
  • Reporting to: Director of Exceptional Student Education (ESE)

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Valid certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
  • Experience teaching students with visual impairments in school settings
  • Strong understanding of visual impairment strategies, assistive technology, and curriculum adaptation
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and families
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored for students with visual impairments
  • Deliver direct instruction focusing on visual efficiency, orientation, mobility, and adaptive skills
  • Utilize assistive technologies to support student learning and accessibility
  • Collaborate with school staff and families to ensure cohesive support for students
  • Monitor progress and adjust teaching methods to meet student needs
  • Maintain accurate records and comply with district and state regulations
