Support students across a range of grade levels as a dedicated Teacher for the Visually Impaired in the dynamic Chattanooga area! This full-time contract role offers the opportunity to make a real difference for K-12+ learners, working on an itinerant caseload with both general education and special classroom students.

Your expertise will be valued as you provide direct instruction, facilitate access to learning through Braille and assistive technology, and collaborate with school teams. With geographic scheduling designed to minimize travel between assigned schools, you’ll enjoy a variety of settings while maintaining work-life balance. Key Qualifications:

• Certified in Visual Impairment (active DOE certification required)
• Experience working with students who are blind or have visual impairments, from elementary through high school
• Proficiency in Braille instruction and assistive technologies (knowledge of the Federal Quota program is a plus)
• Comfortable collaborating on Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) using the TN Pulse platform
• Fingerprinting and timely credentialing required prior to start

What You'll Do:

• Deliver high-quality instruction adapted to each student’s needs
• Travel between assigned schools as an itinerant educator (schools will be grouped to reduce commute times)
• Consult with classroom teachers and participate actively in IEP meetings
• Support students in both inclusive environments and specialized classrooms
• Help implement Chromebook-based learning tools and accessibility solutions
