Job Type Contract

Make a meaningful difference in students’ lives as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) in a supportive and collaborative school environment. This contract opportunity focuses on working one-on-one and in small settings to deliver educational services to two elementary-aged students—one in third grade with significant visual impairments, and a fourth grader requiring ongoing VI support while wearing corrective lenses.

You’ll be instrumental in helping these students build critical skills for both academic and personal success. This is a guaranteed 4-hour per week role, with a balance of 3 hours of direct student service and 1 hour dedicated to IEP-related responsibilities. Flexible licensing requirements mean applicants holding out-of-state certification are encouraged to apply.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired or in vision-related educational support
  • Valid teaching certification (flexible state requirements)
  • Strong understanding of IEP development and documentation
  • Compassionate, individualized approach to student learning
  • Effective communication skills with educators, administrators, and families
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and empowering classroom environment

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction and interventions designed for each student’s unique visual needs
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to implement accommodations and modifications
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to goals, objectives, and progress monitoring
  • Adapt curriculum materials and facilitate access to technology and resources as needed
  • Communicate regularly with parents and school teams, offering updates and support

Experience the reward of seeing your expertise help students thrive. With consistent weekly hours and an open-minded attitude toward certification, this is an excellent opportunity for passionate TVIs—whether local or from out of state.

Embrace this flexible and impactful role by applying today and help shape a supportive, accessible educational journey for young learners!
