As a travel Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI), you’ll work closely with two elementary students in grades 3 and 4, tailoring your expertise to meet their individual needs. This role allows you to expand your skills by collaborating with new teams, experiencing diverse workplace practices, and contributing to innovative approaches in special education. Each assignment enriches your professional resume and deepens your impact as an educator.
Qualifications:
- Current license in Visual Impairment—open to out-of-state certifications
- Experience with elementary students preferred
- Ability to adapt instruction for a student with more significant visual impairments
- Familiarity with IEP documentation and compliance
Responsibilities:
- Provide 3 hours/week of direct services to students (1 with severe visual impairments, 1 requiring VI support despite wearing glasses)
- Dedicate 1 hour/week to IEP development and related paperwork
- Implement adaptive instructional strategies tailored to each student
- Collaborate with other educators and support staff to promote student success
