Make a meaningful difference by serving students with visual impairments in an educational setting. This contract opportunity calls for a dedicated professional to provide vital support from now through May 2027, working full-time with PreK-12th grade students. Your expertise will empower students by helping them access the curriculum and develop crucial life skills.

Key Qualifications:

  • Certification/licensure as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
  • Experience working with school-aged children, ideally across multiple grade levels
  • Proficiency in designing and modifying instructional materials for visually impaired students
  • Familiarity with Braille, assistive technology, and orientation & mobility concepts
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, families, and school staff

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized and small group instruction to students with visual impairments from PreK through 12th grade
  • Develop, implement, and update Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Assess students’ educational needs and provide appropriate accommodations and materials
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to facilitate inclusion and accessibility
  • Consult with families to promote continuity of support and encourage student independence
  • Maintain accurate records and stay current with best practices in the field
