What You’ll Bring:

• Valid state certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Visual Impairment Education, Special Education, or a related field
• Experience working with students with a range of visual impairments, ideally within a school setting
• Strong understanding of assistive technology and Braille instruction
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
• Flexibility and adaptability in supporting diverse student needs

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction to students with visual impairments, developing individualized goals and lesson plans
• Conduct functional vision and learning media assessments
• Collaborate with general education teachers, families, and support staff to facilitate student success
• Modify educational materials and recommend accommodations to ensure accessibility
• Instruct students in the use of low vision aids and assistive technology
• Maintain accurate student records and participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings
• Serve as a resource and advocate for visual impairment awareness and classroom accessibility
