Qualifications and Experience:

• Familiarity with braille, assistive technology, and orientation and mobility strategies
• Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to organize and manage a varied caseload independently

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct instruction to visually impaired students, tailoring strategies to each learner’s needs
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
• Conduct functional vision, learning media, and assistive technology assessments as needed
• Consult with teachers and staff to provide guidance on accessible classroom materials and accommodations
• Engage with parents and guardians to support students’ progress and advocate for their needs
• Stay current with best practices and legal mandates in vision education
