Step into a pivotal role supporting students with visual impairments for the 2026-2027 school year. As an itinerant Teacher for the Visually Impaired, you'll have the rewarding responsibility of empowering learners across 10 campuses. Operating from a dedicated office space in the administrative annex, you'll manage a caseload of 25 students, ensuring personalized support and advocacy throughout your week.

Position Highlights & Desired Experience:

  • Current certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
  • Prior experience serving school-aged children with visual impairments is highly valued
  • Ability to manage an itinerant schedule, traveling between campuses on alternating days
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills
  • Proficient in developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s diverse needs
  • Familiarity with assistive technology and adaptive instructional strategies
  • A collaborative, flexible, and student-centered approach

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct and consultative services to students with visual impairments according to their IEPs
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, paraprofessionals, therapists, and families to maximize student learning and independence
  • Assess, monitor, and document student progress and make adjustments as needed
  • Advocate for accessible materials, environmental adaptations, and inclusion in school activities
  • Contribute to team meetings, multidisciplinary evaluations, and professional development sessions
  • Maintain an organized schedule to effectively serve all assigned campuses
