Teacher of the Visually Impaired in Irving, TX

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid state certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• Experience working with visually impaired students in K-12 settings preferred
• Strong organizational and time management skills to manage an itinerant schedule
• Ability to develop and implement IEPs and adapt curriculum for diverse learners
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with students, families, and staff
• Proficiency in the use of assistive technology and adaptive materials

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction to a caseload of students with visual impairments across multiple campuses
• Assess students’ functional vision and learning materials, adapting resources as needed
• Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to support student success
• Develop and monitor IEP goals, maintain documentation, and participate in ARD/IEP meetings
• Provide consultation and training to campus staff on strategies and accommodations for visually impaired students
• Maintain a consistent schedule, traveling between assigned campuses and working from the office at the admin annex
