Your expertise will help students develop important skills for independence and academic success during the 2026-2027 school year.

What You Bring:

  • Valid and current Texas State Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TSVI) certification
  • Experience or strong interest in working with children and adolescents who are visually impaired
  • Flexibility and adaptability to shifting caseloads and campus assignments
  • Ability to travel between multiple school sites throughout the week
  • Excellent communication skills for collaborating with paraprofessionals, classroom teachers, families, and support staff
  • Commitment to individualized instruction and advocacy for students with visual impairments

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction to a caseload of approximately 12-15 students, including at least 3 homebound learners
  • Serve as an itinerant teacher across several campuses, partnering with elementary, middle, and high schools as needs arise
  • Assess, develop, and implement IEPs tailored to each student’s strengths and needs
  • Provide guidance to school staff and families to ensure effective accommodations and accessibility
  • Monitor and document student progress, adjusting instructional strategies as appropriate
  • Foster a positive, inclusive environment that empowers students

This is an on-site only position, offering full-time hours (37.5 per week) from July 30, 2026, through May 28, 2027. The role promises continuous professional growth, exposure to diverse student needs, and the chance to shape futures in a collaborative setting.
