Key Qualifications:

• Valid teaching certification with an endorsement in Visual Impairment
• Experience working with students who are blind or visually impaired, preferably within a school setting
• Knowledge of Braille, assistive technology, and adaptive instructional strategies
• Strong collaboration and communication skills to effectively partner with teachers, families, and support staff

Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct instruction to students with visual impairments for a total of 4 hours per week, adapting lessons to meet IEP goals
• Conduct functional vision and learning media assessments to support recommendations for services
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, related service providers, and families to develop and implement effective strategies and accommodations
• Assist in acquiring and implementing adaptive materials and technology for student use
• Participate in IEP meetings, providing input and documentation as required
• Offer consultation and support to school staff regarding visual impairments and best practices
