Qualifications and Experience Desired:

• Current certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• Experience working with children who have visual impairments preferred
• Strong understanding of Braille, assistive technology, and adaptive instructional strategies
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to create and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Familiarity with federal, state, and local regulations regarding special education services

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction and support to students with visual impairments across various grade levels
• Develop customized lesson plans and instructional materials to meet diverse student needs
• Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, parents, and other professionals to ensure coordinated care and optimal learning outcomes
• Monitor and evaluate student progress, adapting interventions as needed to promote academic and personal growth
• Assist with orientation and mobility training, and technology integration to enhance independence
• Maintain thorough, timely, and compliant documentation of student services and progress
