Step into an impactful role supporting students as a dedicated Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) and Orientation & Mobility (O&M) specialist. This contract position starts as soon as possible and extends through December 18, 2026, with the potential for a full-year assignment. You'll make a meaningful difference by providing critical instruction and resources to students across multiple school sites during the regular school year.

Your weekdays will be spent in a dynamic, collaborative environment, working Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 3:00pm. The position involves working with various buildings throughout the district, with initial assignments at three schools for TVI services and three schools for O&M, keeping your days engaging and varied. As district needs evolve, your schedule and assignments may adjust—an ideal opportunity for flexible, proactive professionals.

Qualifications:

  • Credentialed and experienced in teaching students who are visually impaired
  • Familiarity with Orientation & Mobility instruction
  • Strong communication and organizational abilities
  • Ability to adapt strategies based on individual student needs
  • Commitment to collaboration with education staff, families, and support resources
  • State teaching certification and appropriate endorsements required

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction to students with visual impairments, promoting independence and academic achievement
  • Provide Orientation & Mobility training to enhance students’ navigation skills
  • Collaborate with other educators and service providers to develop and support individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Travel between assigned district buildings as needed
  • Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and professional development
