Step into a rewarding contract opportunity empowering students as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired for the 2026-2027 school year. This part-time, onsite role focuses on providing vital educational support to a caseload of approximately eight students, each requiring tailored weekly, monthly, and quarterly services that will total around 15 hours per week. As an integral part of the educational community, you will ensure students with visual impairments receive high-quality instruction and advocacy that facilitates their academic and personal success.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Washington TVI Certification (Teachers for the Visually Impaired)
  • Fingerprinting clearance through OSPI required prior to start
  • Experience or strong interest in serving K-12 students with a range of visual impairments
  • Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (teachers, aides, families, and school administration)
  • Dedicated, compassionate approach with strong communication and organizational skills

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized instruction plans for students on caseload
  • Deliver direct and consultative services according to each student’s IEP
  • Conduct regular assessments to monitor and document student progress
  • Adapt curriculum, select materials, and recommend assistive technology to support access to instruction
  • Consult and communicate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to promote inclusion
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with state and district requirements
